Fall Yoga Retreat: A Refuge for Your Heart
October 16-18, 2026
with Chaya Spencer at Lifebridge Sanctuary, Rosendale, NY
The retreat is full. If you’d like to be added to the wait list, email: Chaya@shreeyoga.com
A true refuge is more than a place. It is a space where the mind grows quiet, the body softens, and the heart feels safe. It is where we can set down the weight of daily responsibilities, reconnect with what matters most, and remember the steady center that lives within us. In times of challenge, refuge restores us. In times of ease, it deepens our connection to ourselves and to one another.
Join us for a nourishing weekend retreat at Lifebridge Sanctuary, nestled in the beauty of the Catskills. Through yoga, meditation, time in nature, wholesome meals, meaningful conversation, and spacious periods of rest and reflection, you’ll be invited to slow down and settle into a deeper sense of presence and belonging.
In the yogic tradition, there is a beautiful Sanskrit phrase: hridaya vishranti—reposing in the heart. Here, “heart” does not refer to the physical organ or even the emotional heart, but to our essential nature, the innermost core of who we are. Vishranti means rest, repose, or deep relaxation. Together, these words point to the experience of resting in our own being, returning home to ourselves.
This retreat offers a supportive cocoon for renewal and self-discovery. Come away for a weekend of rest, connection, and renewal. Return home grounded, refreshed, and reconnected to the essence of who you are.
Our retreat center, Lifebridge Sanctuary, offers us a space of peace, nature and quiet to introspect, practice yoga, eat well and rest in beauty inside and out. The Sanctuary is a 12,000 square foot hand crafted, green facility on 95 acres of forest and spectacular open space on the Northern crest of the Shawangunk Ridge, less than 90 minutes from Shree.
Accommodations are simple, organic and comfortable shared in the Main House or the Garden House a five minute walk away. We’ll dine on homecooked, healthy vegetarian meals: brunch and dinner. We’ll have the entire sanctuary to ourselves: three ponds, a labyrinth to walk, trails to hike, gazebos to sit in, a fire pit, living rooms with games and books and of course, yoga and meditation for all level of students in the Upper Room. Surrounded by large windows, you will be treated to panoramic views of the Catskill Mountains as you practice, dine and relax in your room.

A Retreat to Reset, Reconnect, and Feel Like Yourself Again
The theme of our retreat this year is Awakening Joy. Co-taught by Shree’s own Rachel Dewan, aong with Master Anusara Yoga Teachers Julia Pearring and Jacalyn Prete, we will explore the natural rhythm of contraction and expansion, concealment and grace. You will be invited to release tension, quiet the mind, and reconnect with the deep joy and wholeness already within you.
This retreat offers tools to navigate life’s ups and downs, while staying connected to sacred presence and unfettered joy. When we come to understand that our worthiness is not built upon life only feeling expansive, bright and beautiful, we can use the contracted moments to help us ground and steady ourselves.
Over four days, we’ll engage in meditation, pranayama, chanting, asana, journaling, and discussion—practices that open us to growth, self-recognition, and the joy that is always within. Together we’ll embrace both the challenges and the openings of the journey, returning home with skills and clarity to sustain peace and joy long after the retreat ends.
What’s Included in our 4-day retreat:
Morning Meditation
Begin each day with quiet intention. Our morning meditation practice helps you settle your mind, open your heart, and set the tone for a grounded day—no experience required.

Enjoy two yoga classes each day, thoughtfully programmed to energize your morning and unwind you later on. Expect a balance of strength, mobility, movement science, breath, and deep restoration.

The Kripalu Experience
This retreat is equal parts restorative and renewing: movement that feels good, food that nourishes, stillness that centers you, and evenings that remind you how good it feels to simply enjoy yourself.
Come as you are.
